Here are some desciptions of a variety of
different projects for a few of our Landowner clientele.
LECI - Kaelepulu Wetland:
Removed
invasive plants from the
wetland to create larger
foraging and nesting habitat
for
native wetland birds such as Ae’o (Himantopus
mexicanus knudseni), Alae
ke’oke’o (Fulica
Americana alai) and Alae ula (Gallinula
chloropus sandvicensis).
Distributed indigenous plants such
as Bacopa monnieri to sparsely vegetated areas to increase
foraging areas for wetland birds.

Marriot - Ko’olina Golf Course:
A native plant garden was developed on the golf course.
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service / Kamehameha
Schools - Ukoa Marsh Exclosure:
This project included vegetation removal of invasive plants along the fence
line including: Kiawe (Prosopis juliflora),
Date palm (Phoenix dactylifera),
and Pluchea indica.
Pono Pacific took down 1500
feet of existing fence and built a 1,500 foot predator
fence.
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service - Puna
Trail and Fencing Project on Private Land:
Cut a trail for fence line with hazel hoes and pulaskis to prepare for a forty
acre exclosure.
