another salary, all the overhead cost that you incur with another person
on the crew, and buying tools to get the job complete.

Q::

A:: The future of conservation is the youth of Hawaii. It is up to us to give
the youth the opportunity to explore our environment. If the environment and
knowledge we have of it is alienated from the youth it won’t be seen
as something important and something to protect. It is up to the leaders in
conservation today to reach out to the young people to give them opportunities
to learn.
Pono Pacific is working to educate the young people through a program called
the Youth Conservation Corps (YCC). The YCC is a DLNR funded program, with
additional funding from USFWS, and Kamehameha Schools. It is the hope of these
agencies and organization that we are able to set a spark in the lives of the
members of the YCC. During the program the YCC works with over 15 conservation
agencies ranging from federal, state, and non-profit.
Pono Pacific is in charge of all logistical, coordination financial and material
aspects of the program. Pono Pacific is always looking for other partners to
make the YCC an outstanding educational experience.
