Invasive species are one the greatest problems for Hawaii’s ecosystems and present a challenge to conservation agencies, landowners, and users. They are not only destructive to the lands managed, but also costly to your resources, and to Hawaii’s future. Invasive species are any introduced plant or animal species that take over and out-compete native species for habitat and resources. Left unchecked, they are far more costly to remove as populations become more established. In many cases, invasive species take over a native habitat which often leads to a decline in native species. Pono Pacific has helped to tackle a wide variety of terrestrial and aquatic invasive species. Additionally, Pono Pacific has the experience and protocols necessary to ensure the proper removal and disposal of invasive species to help prevent their spread.
Pono Pacific is licensed as a commercial restricted pesticide applicator by the State of Hawaii, Department of Agriculture. A variety of herbicide application methods can be used to effectively help control invasive species.
